Engineered Skin

Engineered Skin Concept REV’IT! developed the unique Engineered skin design method back in 2001 and since then has continuously improved upon this concept by implementing improvements on functional performance, construction, and fitting shape. By reallocating vulnerable stitching seams towards areas of less impact risk, the product becomes more safe. Every stitch perforates the fabric or leather compromising its durability. By using the Engineered skin construction method, functional performance materials can be applied better and more logically. High end, durable, and tear abrasive materials, such as Superfabric, can be placed at the elbows, knees and shoulders without reducing the level of comfort or freedom of movement. This allows stretch material to be applied where desired without decreasing the overall level of safety of the product.

Improved safety stitching construction

The ripping of seams is prevented with the application of the safety stitching technology. The safety stitching is used in areas of the clothing where risk of impact can be expected.

TPU-Aluminum Honey Comb Structure Shoulder Part

TPU-aluminum honey comb structure shoulder part This newly developed shoulder part consists of 3D pre shaped honey comb structure TPU material, on top of which an aluminum high impact shield has been applied. This lightweight hard part increases the level of protection significantly without adding the considerable weight of currently applied traditional plastic hard parts. When fighting G-Forces, every gram counts! Under the shoulder part, ergonomically shaped CE approved shoulder armour is perfectly placed to miximize the impact resistance without restricting the freedom of movement.

SAS-TEC®

This protection has the highest CE rating available. The intelligent protection armour is constructed from smart molecules: in case of an impact the armour will rapidly freeze and harden, absorbing the shock and distributing it over a large area to reduce the risk of fractures. The soft exterior of the armour offers a great deal of comfort and mobility.

ProLife®

This CE approved armour is designed in Italy; it is constructed from elastomeres, which contain micro pores of trapped air. This trapped air considerably absorbs the impact of a shock and distributes the deriving forces.

KNOX®

CE approved protection armour designed in the UK. Combining rubber foam interior with a hard shell polyurethane exterior, KNOX® is used in a broad range of REV’IT! products including our lifestyle apparel, and offers a highly effective means of protection. KNOX® amour is extremely durable, lightweight and flexible.

Temperfoam

Self-contouring foam that is not CE approved but still holds a great deal of impact resistant properties, this product is used in areas as the hips where mobility is a must.

Schoeller® NanoSphere

Schoeller® NanoSphere This revolutionary finish makes it impossible for dirt or water to affix to material, resulting in a garment that will stay clean and dry. It is because of the innovative new process that REV’IT! is able to produce garments in a variety of bright colors, which enhances the overall visibility and safety of the rider. A NanoSphere finish is used in the constuction of INFINITY.

SuperFabric®

SuperFabric® SuperFabric® technology is an advanced process that transforms ordinary fabrics into unique, highly protective materials. Protective shields are applied close to each other but remain separate to allow maximum flexibility. Those micro guard plates provide an additional layer of protection without adding weight and will help resist abrasion to underlying fabrics. SuperFabric® is 5 times more abrasion resistant than leather with only half the weight. This high tech material is used in CAYENNE PRO jackets and pants as well as in GT CORSE gloves.

3-D Laminated fabric

This process is used to adhere seams of any material by heat adhesive treatment, eliminating sewing seams all together. These adhesive technologies expand the possibilities of new product designs and functionalities. 3-D lamination could be found on variety of products.

Ultra thin laminated cuff straps

Ventilated Speed Hump The ultra thin laminated cuff straps can easily be worn over or in the cuff of the glove. This new technology can be found in most REV’IT! garments.

Ventilated speedhump

A perforated temperfoam high density speedhump allows air to enter through a perforated leather panel on top of the speedhump to cool the back during hot weather conditions.

Thermal Welding

Thermally welded foam protection Stitching seams are usually the weakest link in motorcycle garments. To eliminate these seams, a thermal welding technique is used to apply foam protection panels on high impact areas such as shoulders and hips. The application of thermal welding offers strings of technical possibilities: zippers can be applied without seams, resulting in neater and thinner garments. By using thermal welding, various materials can be applied to 3-layer fabrics without penetrating the fabric and damaging its waterproof functionalities.

Removable ventilation panels

Removable ventilation panels These panels can be removed to allow full ventilation of the jacket. Removable ventilation panels could be found in the OFF TRACK jacket.

Laminated Reflection

These reflection panels have been laminated onto the fabric and help reduce overall weight and increase flexibility.

Direct VSC System

Direct VCS System This 100% waterproof ventilation system directly leads through the integrated membrane to allow fresh air to flow into the garment.

Thermolite® Plus, DuPont

Thermolite® Plus is made from 80% recyclable polyester. It is a high quality, medium loft thermal lining which offers warmth and comfort for the motorcyclist. The innovative mix of fibers retains body heat by trapping air. The material is soft and supple, ensuring maximum freedom of movement and comfort.

Thermolite® Active, DuPont

Thermolite® Active provides lightweight warmth at minimal thickness. A patented process provides outstanding durability, especially when damp, which makes it perfectly suitable for high activity sports apparel.

Schoeller® PCM

PCM is an active temperature controlling material; when the outside temperatures drops, the liquid PCM cells solidify and gradually release heat, when the temperature rises the cells change into a fluid again and absorb excess body heat. PCM offers the best protection in even the coldest weather conditions by keeping the body at a constant comfortable temperature.

REV’IT! Hydratex®

Hydratex Membrane A waterproof layer is laminated onto a carrier to construct the REV’IT! Hydratex® membrane. The carrier in turn protects the membrane against rub and tear damage. The seams of the membrane are taped to ensure waterproofing. The REV’IT! Hydratex® membrane is used in garments that demand a high level of all-weather protection.

REV’IT! Hydralite® Pro

The inventive REV’IT! Hydralite® Pro membrane consists of three functional layers which are laminated together to become one strong layer of all-weather protection. A waterproof membrane is laminated directly onto the inside of the outer shell. A protective lining laminated on the inside of the membrane prevents run and tear damage. The highly functional REV’IT! Hydralite® Pro membrane reacts to changing temperatures and activities and is used in the construction REV’IT! collection and offers the best comfort and all-weather protection available.

REV’IT! Hydralining®

REV’IT Hydralining G-liner construction using direct taping This waterproof coating is integrated at the inside of the garment. The seams are taped to ensure that the garment is waterproof. The REV’IT! Hydralining® membrane is used in the construction of products that demand a basic level of all-weather protection.

REV’IT! Hydralite®

REV’IT! Hydralite® is a waterproof coating applied to all rain specific gear. This coating adds an extra level of waterproofing to already waterproof materials.

REV’IT! WindBarrier®

REV’IT! Wind barrier 3 layer construction The REV’IT! WindBarrier® membrane is laminated between two separate layers of fabric: a stretchable outer layer and a soft fleece inside. This combination forms a blockage against wind, and helps repel water. Stopping the wind and rain helps prevent hypothermia and improves the level of comfort and warmth.
